So I'm sure by now all of you have heard about the troubling things happening in Arkansas, Louisiana and
Alabama. The fish and birds randomly dropping dead all over the place, carcasses speckling the countryside.
I watch alot of documentries-too many really about a number of things. I don't cater to conspiracy's yet I do have a tendency to overthink things, so for a few minutes after hearing about these events I questioned my Atheism. Counting my blessings frantically trying to recall any and all learnings from Sunday school. I soon came to realize this was all poppycock, and that most things can be explained scientifically- the simplest explanation often being truth. I got to thinking and researching....on YouTube. Amongst all the doomsday freaks was a comment left by a former Natural Gas employee who presented the idea that all these dead creatures could have something to do with toxic chemicals being illegally dumped by a big corporation.
How could this be? Who could this be?
I decided to watch the news all morning while I did my household chores.
I began to flick through the CBC the CTV and CNN expcting some huge story to come out based on all the research by multiple scientists, blaming it on some huge company.
I was surprised to find that not one news program even dained to ask a question about anything, with all their experts and resources not one station decided to question this mystery.
I carried on clicking each link-my head spinning thinking of birds falling from the sky , and the impact this mass death will have on the ecosystem (more bugs in summer) ( west nile)
Amongst all the gibberish I found a Documentary about natural gas called Gasland.
I watched, I cried, I yelled. I too tried to set my tapwater on fire.
I'm pretty sure it's their fault.
These states all have Natural Gas wells and rivers that connect.
It's the common denominator.
Common sense would suggest my National news would rather talk about heart health and terrorists, than really probe to find the truth.
People don't wan't the truth they wan't cheeseburgers.
